Eco Safaris:the coach tour.

Florida Guide > Other Activities

So, we have come to our fourth and final Ecosafari at Forever Florida.

And this is the coach safari. First I am going to tell you a little bit about the coach. It is nothing like your up to date charabanc that you have occasional day trips in. This is a specially built vehicle that sits high off the ground and can travel all of the various terrain challenges that Forever Florida can throw at it.

This allows you to penetrate deep into the wilderness and cross both land and water. There are 4700 acres to explore here.

So, you have booked your trip, driven to the visitors centre and had an amazed look at your coach before boarding. The first port of call is the Crescent J Ranch.

This is where the Spanish cattle are raised which you will learn how to steer if you take one of the special horse riding experiences.

The horses are a direct line from those brought over by Ponce de Leon . This was over 500 years ago!

After this, you will plunge into the area known as Forever Florida where you can spot the wildlife from your lofty vantage point. This soon takes you to the flood plain forest where you can get off and wander along the boardwalk; have your camera at the ready. It is said that the air here is the purest in the whole of Florida.

Your journey will then take you through some of the other 9 eco systems that are present here.

Finally you arrive back at the visitors center where you are relaxed and full of the interesting facts that your qualified guide has imparted.

This where the Cypress Restaurant is located where you can get some down home food. Or here is an idea; while you are in St Cloud why not stop of at Crabby Bills which is on St Clouds Marina; great seafood and a spectacular view. Call 407 979 4001. The first meal I had a Crabby Bills was flounder stuffed with crab and I can still taste it!

Now back to Forever Florida; the coach tour lasts 2 hours and leaves twice a day at 10 a. m. and 1 p. m. This costs $32 per adult and $24 per child.

The visitors center opens at 9 a. m.
