Magic Kingdom Night time Parade and Fireworks
Florida Guide > Disney Parks
Wishes Fireworks and more!
Amazing, awesome, fantastic, marvellous, incredible – just a small selection of the words I heard being exclaimed after we saw this display at Easter and none of them do justice to Disney’s newest night time spectacular!
The first time we saw it we had just come out of watching Disney’s PhilharMagic Show, and we stood looking up at the sky speechless, it was like no other firework display we had ever seen. From this particular vantage point the fireworks go off to either side of you and seem almost to be having a competition to see which side can be the loudest, brightest and most spectacular.
Although this is a great place to watch from, it does make for a really long exit from the park, by the time you get to the monorail and launches the queues can be horrendous – although to be fair it was Easter and the Parks were heaving with guests.
We decided we wanted to see the whole display again, so returned a couple of nights later and watched from the Plaza Pavilion, it’s quite easy to get a seat here and watch in comfort. You get a fabulous view of Tinkerbell flying down from the castle just before the show starts, and it was much easier to leave the park.
Next time we go I want to try watching from Main Street as I’ve heard from several other people that think this is THE best spot, but until I’ve tried it I won’t be convinced!! Oh and don’t forget to “Make a Wish!”
SpectroMagic Parade
We watched this from the top of main street, to the left of the statue of Walt and Mickey – we managed to get a bench and it proved a really good spot as the parade comes up main street, so you see it “head on” then goes to the right and passes around the back of the statue and came right past us, by now we were standing!
This parade features all your Disney favourites in sparkling detail, flowing fibre optics, holographic images and good old-fashioned twinkle lights – as well as the amazing floats you will see lots of characters on foot and they make a point of interacting with the guests.
Tip: While the fireworks and parade are on you will find the queues for all the rides are MUCH shorter! So if you’ve seen the fireworks and parade sneak off and do your favourite rides with virtually NO wait time!!
