Disney Quest ~ Down Town Disney West Side
Florida Guide > Disney General
From the moment you step into the “magical” elevator that whisks you to the
heart of Disney Quest, you know you are in for something very special.
Always a popular choice with the kids and teenagers, Disney Quest at Down
Town Disney is an indoor interactive adventure on five floors, featuring some of
the best and most up to date arcade style games, virtual reality simulators and
creative activities for all the family.
Divided into four distinct zones, and over 100,000 square feet in size, there
really is something for everyone in this hi tech entertainment complex.
Zone One : The Explore Zone is located on the first floor of Disney
Quest.
The most popular attraction in this area is Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle
for Buccaneer Gold, where team work, quick thinking and a sharp eye are all
needed if you are to succeed in your quest to capture the golden treasure.
Other excitement can be found by venturing onto the Virtual Jungle Cruise
Expedition, where you will experience all the thrills and excitement of a real
jungle cruise, without the danger of getting soaked to the skin !
The majority of rides and attractions in this area are family orientated, and
can be enjoyed by all ages.
Zone Two : The Create Zone is located on the second floor.
Here your kids, and those still young at heart, can create their own music
and songs on the computerised Song Maker, learn how to draw their favourite
Disney characters with the expert guidance of a Disney animator or cast member,
or even create their own virtual reality roller coaster on Cyber Space Mountain.
However, as a word of warning, it should be advised not to go to crazy
designing too many twists and loops into your roller coaster, because once
completed, you get the chance to “ride” your own design in a state of the art
simulator, and those who have been a little over ambitious with their designs
can often walk away, looking more than a little green. Definitely not
recommended for anyone who suffers from motion sickness, but great fun
nonetheless !
Zone Three : The Replay Zone, located on floors three, four and five.
Here you will find many of your favourite arcade style and carnival games,
such as Skee Ball, Basket Ball Hoops and Air Hockey. Also included are
electronic classics such as Asteroid, Pac Man and the original Space Invaders.
The major attraction in this zone however is Buzz Lightyear's AstroBlaster. A
bumper car style game which allows you to help Buzz save the universe by
blasting your opponents with specially designed softball canons, built into your
Astro Blaster. Great fun for everyone, whatever your age !
Zone Four : The Score Zone is located on floors four and five.
This zone contains a host of virtual reality games and attractions, from
traditional pinball tables to jet ski and motor racing simulator rides. But the
star of the show, and perhaps the biggest attraction of all is the mega Mighty
Ducks Pinball Slam, where you can go head to head against your opponents in the
biggest and wackiest pinball game ever.
Disney Quest is open daily, although closing times do vary. However, it’s a
great way to spend either a few hours or indeed, a whole day.
But however long you choose to stay, be prepared for some serious fun and
excitement.
