What’s so great about Universal Studios Part 3

Florida Guide > Universal Parks

One show I always make plans to see on every visit to Universal Studios in Florida is the blues Brothers, it is based on the classic file from the early 80’s the blues brothers. I don’t know if it’s something to do with the fact that I had just left school when this film came out that draws me to it or just the fact that the music was just so darn good but like I say it’s my favourite show in Universal.

Don’t miss this show or you will regret it! You can tell when it’s going to start as Jake and Elwood as you can hear them approaching in the blues mobile which has a huge speaker attached to the roof believe me you can’t miss them when their on their way. As they get out of the “bluesmobile” they are wearing their trademark dark suits matching sun glasses and their porkpie hats and it’s not long before they burst into song with a few classic tunes you all will know.

There’s also Mabel the waitress and her other half who can play a mean saxophone, she sings a couple of great tunes along with some really great saxophone playing , it’s not long before it turns into a street party atmosphere and a conga snakes around the road, as it is an outdoor show and the audience can get involved in the atmosphere and sing and dance to the music. Of all the shows in Universal Musical or not I think the Blues Brothers is the best without a doubt make sure you plan to see it.

The next show along is yet another musical show the Beettlejuice Grave Yard Review all you have to do is to say his name three times BEETLE JUICE BEETLE JUICE BEETLE JUICE and he will appear I am sure you will remember him for the film he is a wise cracking wacko from the underworld no less ! You will see a lot of Universals classic monsters in a rock and roll concert setting, the wolfman, Dracula, Frankenstein and the Bride of Frankenstein just to mention a few all take part singing and dancing various songs through the show.

If you are getting a bit peckish by this point there are a couple of good place to eat , close to the blues brothers show is Finnegan’s bar and grill which Is a classic Irish bar there are a few dotted around the tourist areas of Orlando and offer decent food at decent prices.

Or you could try louies Italian restaurant where you can try authentic Italian dishes such as pasta or meatballs be careful though you might bump into Michael Corleone having his lunch and you wouldn’t want him to make you an offer you can’t refuse now would you!
