Fireworks and special eefects at Universal:new!
Florida Guide > Universal Parks
I am now of any age (sad, but true) when I can just remember what is now called The Golden Age of Hollywood. I cannot remember all of the 100 years that this new show is celebrating, but getting closer! !
The stars were really big stars then; you could never imagine them in your local Mc Donalds or going out looking any less than groomed to the eyeballs.
So when Universal announced that it was going to produce an entirely new show based on a century of film making I was excited, This show was to be called 100 years of movie memories.
But my imagination did not take me anywhere near what Universal have produced for us.
They show us the best clips from almost 100 movies featuring 100 award winning actors; but this is no mere clip show; of course not, this is Universal.
Every magical moment is beamed onto curtains spanning the lagoon. This is backed up by interactive fountains that change colour according to the mood.
There are special effects, soaring music and awesome pyrotechnics. All of this is narrated by the one and only Morgan Freeman.
The Aqua Graphic curtains can be viewed from either side and just about anywhere you stand at the waters edge affords you a great view. How do they do that!
The show plays over the buildings across the rooftops and soars away to the sky.
The event lasts around 20 minutes and brings this original park bang right back into the running after our new love affair with Harry Potter over in the sister park.
I would even say it is giving Disney a run for its money and it is this sharp competition that is providing us with all these great experiences.
I have always thought that Universal left you wanting a finale and finally they have it.
Check before you plan your day that this new feature is running as it is not on every night. Currently, the show starts at 9 p. m.
I wish they would plan this for every single night but they have not at present.
Also, plan to get to the waters edge early.
This is only one of many surprises that Universal have for us this year and I cannot wait for them to announce what else they have up their sleeve.
The best place to get your Universal tickets (and indeed all your theme park tickets) is from Orlando Park Tickets using this link http://www. orlandovillas. com/tickets. aspx
