Guided Kayak Tour
Cocoa Beach is around an hour away from your lovely Orlando vacation rental home and perfect for a day away from the mouse.
A great way to spend a morning (or afternoon) is a guided kayak tour from The Cocoa Beach Vacation Club which is in Tom Warriner Road.
Here you can meander around the multitude of islands where you are likley to see bottle nose dolphins, manatees and a variety of birds. Indeed, this area has one of the most diverse eco systems in the whole of America!
Each tour takes around two to two and a half hours and start at 9. 30 a. m. and 12. 30 p. m. Included in the cost is sunblock, your kayak and paddle, life vest, towel, hat and a bottle of water.
This operation is managed by Kathleen Bennet. Kathleen is a respected expert in bottle nose dolphins, manatees and the birds that inhabit the mangroves of this area.

B. C. C PlanetariumThe B. C. C Planetarium is located in Brevard Community College in Cocoa and is open to the general public.
The planetarium is of the most interest and has a 70 foot screen. A combination of twin projectors, a digistar and Minolta Alpha Infinitum produces a stunning 3D effect.
This is backed up with a state of the art audio system that adds great special effects. All this makes this planetarium one of the most stunning in America.
The cinema has a giant screen that uses 70 m. m. film (this is twice the normal size. Normall the films shown are of the scientific or nature related sort.
The observatory houses the largest telescope in America that is open to the public. You can visit this area on either a friday or saturday night from sunset til 10. 15 p. m. This can be right throughout the year excepting when these days fall on either Christmas Day or New Years Eve.
In the Science Quest Exhibition Hall there is a myriad of interesting things to see and do in an area that covers nearly 6000 square feet.
Admission is $7 for entrance to either the planetarium or the theatre or $11 for both. The laser show is also $7 and there is a triple enrty ticket for $16. Concessions are available.
To visit either the observatory or the exhibition is free of charge.
