Magic Kingdom - Tomorrowland
Florida Guide > Magic Kingdom
For all you budding time travellers, this will suit you down to the ground.
First ride is Stitch’s Great Escape, if you’ve visited Walt Disney World in the past, you may remember this attraction as the Extraterrestrial Alien Encounter, now revamped and as scary as ever as you are fastened in to your pod and experience Stitch Escaping from the capsule. But be warned, he may come after you. Not for young member of the family, unless they are fearless. Be prepared to scream your head off as he breathes down your neck!
Now off to Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin – An interactive Space ride for all you budding space cadets. Fire your way through the galaxy with your laser gun and score as many points as you can. Even the youngest members of your family will love this ride. You can all compete for the highest position in the galaxy, a definite ride not to be missed
Need more speed? Then head off to Space Mountain, this will undoubtedly be one of the fastest and roughest rides of the day. You are placed in a space rocket and blasted into the darkness, through tight turns and sharp drops, your heart will be in your mouth. A great thrill for the seekers in the family. We love it, go on, give it a go!
The Astro Orbiter is a much more gentler ride and suitable for most people, a steady ride in a colourful rocket ship. More suited for the whimps who missed out on Space Mountain. Only joking, a nice relaxing ride
Then off we go to Tomorrowland Transit Authority, a monorail type transport system which takes you through Tomorrowland and its attractions. Suitable for everyone and it’s a great way to see the sites of this part of Magic Kingdom. We are always dragged on here by our boys. Its one ride that you can all ride as a family. This never stops running as it is a continuously moving system.
Now time to step back in time with Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress. This massive revolving theatre takes you through the years of progress, using Animatronics it demonstrates how our lives have change and will change as everyday objects were invented and improved. Younger members of the family may find it difficult to sit still for the 20 minute presentation, but well worth it. We still visit it even though we’ve seen it may times
Now to the most popular attraction in this section of the park, especially for the budding Richard Petty’s in the family, Tomorrowland Indy Speedway. You get the chance to drive a petrol powered Indy Speedway car, although semi-fixed to a guide rail you drive round the track with everyone else. Very popular with all family members, so expect to wait your turn. Our eldest son loves this ride and often queues again and again.
