Our Long Day at Hollywood Studios Part 5
Florida Guide > Hollywood Studios
The girls were slightly disappointed that we were not going to the Starring Rolls Café as they wanted one of their famous cup cakes however we said if they didn’t have a dessert at the Brown Derby they could have one later.
We were all very hungry as we entered the restaurant which has caricatures of the Movie Stars on the walls and lovely white linen clothes on the tables. We all opted for starters the girls sharing a huge Cobb Salad while Mother and I had the Jumbo Crab Cakes and my Father quickly demolished his Mushroom ravioli, I must admit they were all delicious.
For our main courses after their Cobb Salad the girls decided they would share just one entrée and shared a Noodle bowl which had lots of vegetables and a curry type sauce. Mother and I both had half a Roast Chicken which was delicious but very filling whilst my Father with his love of fish had the Black Grouper.
We really enjoyed our long leisurely lunch but as we finished we decided that rather then go on other rides we would have a wander round the Park before we finished our day at the Starring Rolls Café.
On many of our previous visits we had been anxious to visit the Antiques and Curios shop but had never had the time. If you can fit it into your schedule we now know it is well worth a visit. Inside you will find costumes worn by the movie stars including the blazer worn by Dick van Dyke. There are lots of pictures and books and quite reasonably priced posters signed by the stars.
We then went into Cinema Storage which is a great shop with lots of Disney clothes we spent quite a time browsing around before choosing a lovely fairy outfit for my god daughter back in the UK.
The girls needed presents for their friends so rather than go through the crowds in a shop we went to the Souvenir kiosk where they bought a Minnie Mouse each.
My Father had already gone ahead to gets seats at the Rolling Stars Café so we joined him there for the girls cup cakes. Whilst the adults had coffee and Mother and I shared a Brownie they both had Butterfinger cup cakes which they said “were to die for”.
We were all tired so headed for the exit but not before the girls each had the balloons they had been promised. As we made our way through the crowds returning their buggies to the Super Service outlet I noticed for the first time a board showing attractions that would not be open that day, I will know to look at this as I enter the Park next time.
A happy family returned to our villa after a great day and spent the evening relaxing in the pool.
