Park Hopping Part 3

On departing Epcot we debated taking the car to the Magic Kingdom and leaving it so that it was at the park where we intended finishing our day but this would have meant taking Disney transport to Hollywood studios. As time was short and there was still much we wanted to achieve we decided against this and drove straight to Hollywood studios where we flashed our parking ticket at the attendant and drove straight into the Music Lot. Fortunately we were quite near the end and did not have far to walk to the tram which was already waiting for us. When did they put the doors on the trams - that' s a new one on me?
On alighting from the tram we stopped briefly to take photographs of the topiary depicting the Sorcerers Apprentice, we then proceeded through the obligatory bag search and passed through the turnstile onto Hollywood Boulevard.
Once upon a time we would' ve made straight for the Tower of Terror and Rock n Roller Coaster, but sadly minor health problems for both of us make that somewhat inadvisable. In any case we were both hungry so made for the fast food outlets on Sunset Boulevard. . . . . . . nobody does chicken tenders and fries with honey and mustard dip like Disney and they barely touched the sides! Whilst consuming our food we remarked on how many people were eating smoked turkey legs and wondered how many turkeys were supplied to Walt Disney World on a daily basis!
Once we had eaten our fill it was off to our favourite attraction ' The Great Movie Ride' , the line was short and we did not even have time to see the whole of the pre show once. . . . . . when the line is long you get to see it several times! We climbed aboard wondering whether we would be held up by the gangsters or the cowboys. Our hostess on the ride was somewhat ' wooden' she won' t be threatening Meryl Streep in the Oscar stakes this year, so it was a relief when I gangsters moll took her place and remained with us until we reached the Lost Ark. As always, the finale, with its multitude of film clips had us trying to guess which film each clip was from and reminded of how many great films he wanted to see a second time!
We made our way down the streets of America to the backlot tour but the line was long as it had been temporarily suspended due to inclement weather that was threatening in the vicinity, so we decided to give it a miss and return in the direction from which we had come and visit Muppet vision 3-D, this is dated but always amusing.
Whilst we were tempted to stay and experience Fantasmic, our plans had always been to see Wishes and the Main Street Electrical Parade so we decided to press on to the Magic Kingdom. The rain started to fall just as we reached our car so it was a good move not to find ourselves in the open-air auditorium awaiting Mickey' s performance.
