The Cheesecake Factory

Florida Guide > Dining

A holiday to Orlando wouldn’t be the same without visiting the famous Cheesecake Factory. This ever-popular restaurant is a must for cheesecake and food lovers alike.

Located at The Mall at Millennia it is a short journey on Interstate 4 east of the main theme parks. The Mall at Millennia is an up market Mall full of designer shops , the world famous Bloomingdales, Macey’s etc.

After you have completed your shopping pop into the Cheesecake Factory for some lunch or even dinner. The surroundings

We had a 20-minute wait, which is not uncommon, but when we were seated the service was fast and efficient. The surroundings are plush and very nice and comfortable- ideal for a family or couples.

The menu is massive with so many items to try. The food is cooked to perfection and very tasty. Just be warned that the portions are enormous and you are doing well to just eat an entrée as well as cheesecake.

If at lunchtime you don’t want a full size portion you can try the lunch menu (served until 5pm) but even then they are still very generous. On this visit we opted for the Shepherd’s Pie - ground beef, mushrooms, carrots, peas and zucchini covered with a mashed potato and Parmesan cheese crust, the ‘Pasta Da Vinci’ which is sautéed chicken with mushrooms and onions in a wonderful Madeira wine sauce served over Penne Pasta. Our son opted for ‘The Factory Burger’ served with French fries.

We just opted for the normal soda with our meals but my husband had the hot Caramel Apple Cider which is hot cider served in a glass with a touch of cinnamon and topped with whipped cream and a caramel sauce – fantastic for what was a rather chilly February day.

We were all so full that we didn’t have room for any cheesecake but you can always ask for it to go and eat it later on in the day. The cheesecakes are out of this world and with over 40 different ones to try you will be spoilt for choice. A few of our favourites include the Fresh Banana Cream Cheesecake topped with Bavarian cream and fresh sliced bananas, the ‘Dutch Apple Caramel Struesel’ with baked apples, cinnamon and walnuts. I normally however opt for one of the speciality desserts ‘ Tiramisu’, this is one of the best I have ever tasted and you can certainly taste the marsala and coffee liqueur.

Once you have experienced The Cheesecake Factory then it will be on your list of places to eat every time you visit Orlando or even the USA.
