Character Dining at Crystal Palace Magic Kingdom

Our kids love the Pooh family so this had to be a good choice – and we were not disappointed.
I phoned from the UK and booked priority seating 60days before we wanted to visit. Priority seating means that whilst it guarantees you a table, it cannot guarantee you a time so you may have to wait a little but they do their best. You do not have to give a deposit so if you don’t go, the weather might be very bad, it does not matter (I guess they can fill your table 10 times over).
The restaurant opens for dinner at 4pm so we booked for this time and we were glad we did as it was a great time to eat. We had a large breakfast and skipped lunch so we were hungry by then. You arrive at the restaurant and give your name, they give you a “flashing box” so they can contact you when your table is ready and you wait nearby. We only waited about 10minutes and we were seated. There were lots of people trying to get a reservation and they were being turned away (it was Easter!) so definitely book beforehand if you can.
We ordered drinks, no alcohol in Magic Kingdom so only sodas – all complimentary and refillable on request. The waitress then explains that the 4 characters take about an hour to get round to each table and to enjoy the very plentiful buffet.
It is a fantastic menu and so cheap for the quality of food : $21.99/Adults, $9.99 Children (tax and gratuity extra). All of our family found lots they enjoyed and that is quite hard to do! We all enjoyed the food but the best was yet to come……

Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore and Piglet visited our table, posed for photos, tickled the kids and generally made us feel very special – Piglet and Eeyore came to see us twice. They really do ensure you have all the photos/autographs you want.Tigger then got all the kids up and they did the conga around the room to music – TWICE!My 10 year old looked mortified but the 6 year old would have stayed by his side all day – that look was worth every penny. It was a child’s birthday and Piglet bought a cake out to them – don’t forget if your child is having a birthday whilst in Magic Kingdom, visit City Hall and they get a badge and all the Cast Members make a real fuss of them.
We left about 5.30pm and the queues were large – understandable as this was a fantastic experience and one we will repeat.Disney, as always, do things right!
