Lunch at Celebration
Florida Guide > Dining
No holiday at our villa is ever complete without at least one visit to Celebration. For us it is just a couple of miles along the 192 but if you are approaching from the I4 west you get off at Exit 64 onto the 192 east and at the third set of traffic lights turn right into Celebration Avenue.
Travelling on the I4 east get off at exit 65 onto World Drive then turn left onto Celebration Avenue and travel along this for a couple of miles.
We usually turn into one of the avenues before we reach the main Market Street where there are usually several parking spaces. However do park carefully as they are very strict about parking correctly and you do not want to incur a fine.
Our bank is in Celebrations so we use this as an excuse to visit it during the day and we often call into Starbucks for a leisurely coffee which we either sit inside to drink or take it to drink whilst we sit in the rocking chairs by the lake.
The last time we went we had had relaxing morning at the villa enjoying swimming in the pool before we set off for Celebration for lunch.
We had chosen Café d’Antonio for our lunch it is located on the corner of Market Street and Front Street facing the lake. Monday to Fridays they open for lunch 11. 30am – 3. 00pm. If you eat indoors it is very cosy and you can see the open kitchen with its wood burning oven. On this particular day it was pleasantly warm without being too hot so we opted to sit outdoors and people watch as we ate.
There is a good lunch menu and as well as appetisers and entrees there is a good selection of sandwiches paninis and pizzas. We were very hungry after our swim so decided to have appetisers. I had Caprese which was homemade mozzarella with tomato and basil I must admit it was the best mozzarella I have had. My Father chose the Antipasto Misto which looked a lovely selection of meats cheeses olives and vegetables.
My Mother really enjoyed her Portobello Ripieno which was a mushroom with sausage, peppers and mozzarella.
I then had Filetto di Maiale alle Mele ( I hope I have spelled it correctly) this was pork medallions with sliced apples and raisins in a port wine sauce it was very good and I would really recommend to those who like sweet accompaniments with their meat.
My parents however decided to share a “Make your Own” 14 inch pizza which they enjoyed with a salad.
It really was a lovely lunch and after having coffee we returned to the villa to snooze the afternoon away in the sun by the pool.
