Best Steaks in Orlando

Florida Guide > Dining

Well this is a bit of an offbeat topic for a Florida guide but it is a question I get asked quite a lot by potential visitors to our Vacation home in Orlando Florida

First I will say that I am not a steak expert in any way I am not a butcher or a cookery reporter merely a guy who loves a good steak and good service.

The very best steak I have had on my last 2 visits to Orlando surprisingly has to be at Outback Steak Houses which are Australian styled steak house chain which offer a range of steaks along with a good range of other dishes including seafood. My dish of choice would be the Outback Special which is their signature sirloin which is lean and full of flavour very much like a good fillet steak that we would get at home here in the UK

My second choice would be a TGI Jack Daniels Steak and Shrimp, this might not be the best choice for some people because they do not like the Jack Daniels sauce but fortunately I do and love the combo of the steak and shrimp, the Jack Daniels steak and shrimp is once again a sirloin and always very tasty. TGI restaurants can be a bit formulaic at times but I have found them to be very reliable and always offering good service even when busy. They also do the Flat Iron steak which is the no1 steak choice of my youngest son a dedicated carnivore, this comes with no sauce a no nonsense fillet type cut although a somewhat smaller portion size than the Jack Daniels steaks

Third choice would have to be the famous Manny’s chop house a mecca for the steak lover, the choice of steaks at this restaurant is simply mouth-watering, I have never seen such a massive choice of different cuts. There is of course the endless bowl salad that goes with every meal and this just has to be seen to be appreciated its huge and never ending.

My choice at Manny’s… wow that’s difficult to choose there is so many, but last time I was there I had the 24oz T Bone steak, yep you heard me right 24oz! A massive plate full of meat they also serve a 24oz Porterhouse and prime rib. The aged rib eye is delicious!

The only problem with Manny’s is it gets extremely busy at times. They have 3 locations which can be found by an internet search, but we usually go to the one on Hwy 27 just south of the I4.

I don’t enjoy steak overcooked, when steak is cooked well done a lot of the juices and flavourings have been cooked out of it, I always go for medium rare for maximum flavour

Enjoy your steak…. . my mouth is now watering
