Character Breakfast at Animal Kingdom

Its amazing how early the children get up when you are on Orlando! With this in mind we decided as a treat for one of the girls birthdays we would take them to the character breakfast at Animal Kingdom.
Priority seating is recommended and this we did although some people just turned up on the day, some of these were unlucky and could not get a table.
We booked for what was then the earliest sitting of 8.00am as we intended to go straight from breakfast to see the animals and early morning, particularly in hot weather, is the best time for this as once it becomes really hot the animals head for the shade.
Breakfast sittings are from 8.00am – 10.00am and the cost of the all u can eat buffet is $16.99 adults, $8.99 for children.
When you make your booking you will be given a number, take this with you as you will need to produce this to get into the Park before official opening. Remember to arrive early enough to have sufficient time to walk to Dinoland where the Restaurantosaurus is situated, we didn’t and arrived quite breathless!
There is a special line for breakfast, when you check in at the podium you are taken to a waiting area and here your photos are taken ( for purchase later if you wish).
When you go into Restaurantosaurus be sure to look at the theming and the décor, there are loads of jokes.
The food was plentiful, the usual eggs, bacon, cereal and breads and a great cold table on which could be found may different types of fruit and great yoghurts.
Our children were very excited so ate quickly and as this was the first sitting the characters did not arrive until 8.30am. so they were just starting to get restless.
Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Pluto appeared and were fantastic, they continually worked their way around the room interacting with the children, stopping for numerous photos and signing autographs. I believe this is the only character breakfast where Donald appears.
The real highlight for our birthday girl was that we had bought a cake and the characters took it to our table to the singing of Happy Birthday. She insisted on having a large slice of cake even though it was barely 9.00am!
A benefit of going to the early sitting was that when we finished breakfast we walked straight onto Dinosaur and the Tricerotops Spin as the Park was still relatively quite.
However I have since heard that if you go to the 10.00am sitting the children get even more time with the characters.
Restuarantosaurus is also open during the day for burgers, fries, huge milkshakes, kids can try the peanut butter brownies and Dad can have a beer.
Whenever you go to I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
