Epcot World Showcase - United Kingdom
Florida Guide > Epcot
It may be my imagination, being British, but the United Kingdom Pavilion always seems to be one of the busiest areas of the Epcot World Showcase. We haven' t lived in the UK for over 20 years so for us personally, it' s great to be able to take a trip ' across the pond' just by visiting Disney.
The array of architecture takes us on a nostalgic trip through the streets of London, along quaint cobble stone streets, past thatched roof cottages and chimney tops complete with soot stains. All this with the delicious aroma of fish and chips tempting taste buds.
The streets lead to an open courtyard, complete with traditional English gardens and even a maze for the children to explore.
Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan and Winnie the Pooh all make regular appearances here to greet the children and sign autographs.
Entertainment:
The British Invasion is a tribute band that play a wide variety of British pop classics and Beatles songs from days gone by, mainly hits of the 60s. They have been performing here for the last 12 years and are the longest running show in Walt Disney World. The crowds gather, the music starts and you just can' t stop that foot tapping!
The Rose & Crown Pub has ' The Hat Lady' who is traditional pub pianist and all-round entertainer who performs unforgettable songs and sing--longs.
The World Showcase Players are an improv comedy group who can often be found getting up to their shenanigans around the UK Pavillion. They perform their version of King Arthur and the Holy Grail and you may even be dragged in to be part of the show!
Dining:
There are two main dining options in the UK pavillion. The Rose & Crown Pub offers traditional British fayre, such as Bangers and Mash, Fish and Chips, Shepherds Pie and Fisherman' s Stew. You can also get a Sunday Roast with Yorkshire Pudding and roast potatoes. Make sure you leave room for dessert - the menu offers a delicious array, including apple crumble, Bakewell tart and sticky toffee pudding.
The Rose & Crown can get busy in the evenings because it offers a prime view of the IllumiNations firework spectacular. If you want to dine on the outdoor patio, during the IllumiNations show, you would usually need to get there before sunset. The area is extremely popular and reservations for outdoor dining can' t be guaranteed.
The Rose & Crown Pub stocks a selection of imported ales, lagers, ciders and stouts all in a traditional pub setting complete with entertainment.
Yorkshire County Fish Shop is a counter service eatery offering delicious battered fish served with chips. There is an outdoor patio area overlooking Showcase Lagoon. The smell of the fish and chips wafts around the whole pavillion, so make sure you go there hungry!

Shopping at the British Pavillion is plenty, with several stores all offering a variety of souvenirs. The Crown & Crest offers mugs, steins and cups with crests along with quills, swords and daggers and a selection of Beatles merchandise.
