Mall at Millenia for Shopping
Florida Guide > Shopping
If you love shopping then there is no better place to go than the Mall at Millenia in Orlando. It is reached via International 4 (I4) and exited at the Conroy Road turn-off. Follow the signs for Mall at Millenia and then you will be confronted with one of the biggest car parks outside of the Disney area. Do remember which entrance you use and where you leave your car. One of my favourite places to park is at the food hall entrance at the Panara Bread Café. Here you can sit outside, French Café style and enjoy a coffee and a wide selection of cakes and pastries. This always gets a shopping trip off to a good start I think.
Once inside you will be on the top floor in the food hall. Here you will see a wonderful array of food choices for lunch (remember them for later). There is Chinese food, Mexican, salad bars, Italian food and in separate building, an old fashioned Diner called Jimmy Rocketts for great burgers and of course Panara bread do light lunches too.
Then to the shops. The flagship stores are Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales and Macy’s. I love shopping at Macy’s but I can only look and dream at the other two. I once saw a small handbag in Nieman Marcus marked at $15. 99 and was about to buy it until I realised it was $1, 599 – gulp! It was no bigger than a small make-up bag!
On the top floor are the most exclusive designer dress shops, Chanel, Burberry, Dior and Gucci to name but a few. For the men there is Hugo Boss, Cole Haan and Tommy Bahama. For jewellery there is Cartier, Tiffany’s and Rolex and how about a new Mont Blanc pen from their own shop. Of course for the well shod , there is Jimmy Choos and for bags and luggage, Louis Vuitton and Salvatore Ferragamo.
For the more down to earth shopping there is Nine West, Aerosoles and Aldos for shoes and Abercrombie and Fitch, Urban Outfitters, Banana Republic and Gap for clothes.
There are two excellent cook shops, Williams Sonoma and Crate & Barrel which sell everything you didn’t know you wanted until you saw it!
Although you probably won’t be in the market for furniture it is still worth while looking in the Z Gallerie. This has the most amazing furniture and many smaller items you may like, such as leather coasters, table mats, vases and paintings.
Do try the exclusive Godiva chocolate shop and get a free sample – you will not be able to leave without buying something I can assure you.
Finally for dinner, The Cheesecake Factory has a wonderful menu of food, not just cheesecakes; but do leave room for the wide variety of cheesecakes you may wish to try – they are huge!
