Understated Seaworld
Florida Guide > Sea World
With so many World beating parks to visit, trying to visit all of them can be a challenge in the short time you are in Florida. With most people wanting to visit Disney and Universal, often some other parks can be forgotten or not visited. One of the parks some people forget about is Seaworld.
Seaworld is run by the same company that owns Busch Gardens, so is geared towards the whole family and trying to cater for the very young through to the very old. Seaworld really does have something for everyone. The park is made up of a large lake and around the lake are various shows and rides. The layout of the park is really very good and getting about very easy. Families don’t need to cover the same sort of distances they do in Disney, that said although it is smaller it does feel less crowded than say Hollywood Studios. Seaworld is very east to get to from the Interstate-4 and is within 25 minutes from most short term rental properties.
If tagged onto a Busch Gardens park ticket visiting Seaworld can be very good value for money. To miss Seaworld off your plans would be a big mistake in my view. Although not as large or packed as some of the bigger parks (Universal and Disney), there is plenty to keep the family busy and some of the rides and shows are some of the best in Orlando. Rides such as Kracken and Manta are up there with the rides like the Hulk and Dragon's Challenge at Universal. In off peak times I have been known to ride Kracken back to back due to the lack of queues. If the rides don’t want to make you come to Seaworld, certainly the shows will. Both the Shamu and the dolphin show are really very good, with plenty to keep the whole family entertained. They are also well spread out throughout the day to allow you time to get between shows. Once one finishes there is a natural pause before the next starts. If you fancy going on the rides in between, they normally have at least 2 showings throughout the day, so if you miss one you can re-arrange your plans to make the next.
We have a 6 year old and this park is certainly one of his best. I think the fact there are shows he can watch and discovery buildings, really keeps him entertained. Not only does Seaworld allow them to enjoy themselves, it also allows them to learn about the various sea creatures, which is something they enjoy.
To go to Florida and not visit Seaworld in my view would be a unwise. It is a great park that really does cater for the whole family. With some of the best rollercoasters and shows it is somewhere you should definitely visit. Couple this with the potential to make big savings by adding Busch Gardens to your tickets means that it is even better value for money.
