Old Town
Florida Guide > Night Life
Old Town is located at mile marker 9 on Highway 192
If you are like all our family (motor mad) you will certainly enjoy a night at old town . there are various evenings going on at old Town.
Thursday evening has a themed night of all motor cycles. They are lovingly kept and the owners are justifiably proud of there bikes.
And you don't want to miss the Friday Night Cruise where the vehicles are between 1975 and 1987 plus of course newer ones, but in my opinion the best night of all is the Classic car night they have hundreds of cars and the parade takes ages to go through the town, if you get there before it starts you can look around the cars and talk to the owners who are only too pleased you take an interest in there pride and joy. This is the 18th year this has been running and every time we visit we think there seems more and more cars. It is said that it is the largest cruise in America
The owners do win prizes for various competitions but the workmanship these owners put into getting and keeping these vehicles running must take hours and hours of work.
There are lots of other things to see and do whilst you are at old town whichever night you decide to go . there are lots of shops selling different things clothes, tee shirts, souvenirs ect, you can even get your coat of arms done . There is also a candle shop where you can watch the artists carve candles into beautiful shapes in various colours.
They also have a live band performing in the street you can join in the dancing or just watch the locals doing all the popular dances
The Old Town Slingshot catapults you 365 feet in the air with extreme force giving you the fright of your life (so much so my daughter went on 4 times). There are lots of other ride some not so extreme. The Ferris wheel for one and not forgetting the little ones, there is an area with small rides i. e. the tea cups and Merry go round
Whilst you have to pay for rides parking and entrance to old town are free
You can get a bite to eat at old town. For a full service restaurant why not try Kool Katz Grill & Pub, or for something more casual there is Flippers pizzeria.
What ever you decide to do a Night at Old Town is a must
