Pleasure Island ~ Down Town Disney
Florida Guide > Night Life
Pleasure Island is Disney’s very own night time entertainment complex, which
is built on a small island, only accessible via two entrance bridges, to the
west of the Down Town Disney area.
A popular venue for all ages, but especially the older teens to 40’s age
category, Pleasure Island contains eight of the best themed night clubs in the
Kissimmee area, all laid out along one easily accessible main street.
Alcohol is served in all of the venues, so as always, take proof of ID if you
wish to drink. Remember that the legal age for the consumption of Alcohol in the
USA is 21, and this rule is rigorously applied, so don’t be offended if you get
asked to prove your age.
Once inside Pleasure Island you will be immediately struck by the street
party atmosphere.
At one end of the complex is the West End Stage, which has regular nightly
rock acts and dancers live on stage throughout the evening, to help get everyone
in the party spirit, whilst along the street itself you will find eight of the
hottest night clubs around, and all within yards of each other.
There really is something to suit every taste, as you can see from the clubs
listed below :
The Comedy Warehouse features the very best of stand up and improvised
comedy, which is created by a rotating cast of talented comedians. The late
night show tends to be a little more risqué, although being on Disney property,
it never offends !
8 Trax is a great dance club for those who have that 70’s and 80’s retro
thing going on ! A thumping sound system blasts out the best of the disco era, and you
will feel yourself transported back in time to the heady days of sequins and
flares.
The Rock N Roll Beach Club covers a wide variety of up tempo popular music
and regularly features live bands on it’s purpose built interior stage. More
middle of the road than some of the other clubs, you can sit in the 2nd floor
lounge and watch the dance floor rocking below you.
Motion is a huge hit with the teenagers, and features a massive video screen
showing the very best of the latest top 40 hits. This is the place to be to pick
up all those new dance moves and look super cool in front of your buddies !
The BET Soundstage Club is a must for hip hop and R & B fans. Built on two
levels, you can dance the night away to all your favourite hits, expertly spun
by the club’s top DJ’s.
By contrast, the Pleasure Island Jazz Company creates an intimate lounge room
setting for an evening of world class jazz musicians to jam into the wee small
hours, recapturing both bygone classics and modern jazz and blues hits alike.
The Adventurer’s Club is a surreal and comedic journey into a world inhabited
by eccentric and frankly bizarre characters, all utilising their interactive and
improvisational skills to create hysterical comedy moments right before your
very eyes. Not to be missed !
And finally, for the hard core element, Mannaquins Dance Palace is the place
to be if you like your dance music hard and loud. Featuring an amazing light
show and a huge revolving dance floor, you can groove to the very best of techno
and trance music. Again hugely popular with the younger crowd.
In addition to the clubs themselves, there are always street entertainers,
carnival sideshows and skill games, shops, coffee houses, and free “give aways”
and street competitions galore.
Plus, every night at the stroke of midnight, Pleasure Island celebrates New
Year’s Eve, and sets the tone for the rest of the evening with a fireworks
display, which signals the start of serious partying !
Pleasure Island is a must see entertainment complex, and for the single price
of admission, to have access to all of these amazing clubs and facilities is
just incredible value for money.
Don’t miss it !
