with an armband which allows you to purchase alcohol. Anyone who looks

The Clubs
The Adventurers Club is a heavily themed attraction based on Victorian explorers. A bar and the library are at one end of this old colonial
mansion. There are little ante rooms off the main bar in which talking heads talk in
true Disney fashion and cast members perform and interact with the
drinkers. A colonel in a safari suit and pith helmet takes position in
the centre of the room and entertains with stories and songs. There is
an interactive element and the audience have to shout out the catch
phrase at appropriate moments. 7
times a night, the library doors are swung open and you are invited
inside You are seated at
small tables and drinks are served. 7 totally different stage shows lasting 30 minutes each are
performed nightly in the library .
The Comedy Warehouse is a Disney themed theatre in which the
cast do improvisational
comedy five times a night. Don’t
sit by a telephone unless you wish to become part of the show. When the
phone rings, the audience member who answers is asked questions by the
entertainers. They will do this several times and then take a number of
the responses and improvise a play or a song around the key words. It is very clever and because
of the random element it is
different every time. Popcorn and
drinks are served.
The remaining nights clubs are more traditional music clubs.
Mannequins is an over 21s venue. This is a dance palace with a
dizzily revolving dance floor which moves under the dancers feet, a state of the art light show and Ibiza club style
techno music. It has recently undergone a top to toe renovation and now boasts a new lounge with
contemporary furniture, sleek
new bars and dramatic lighting.
B-Trax disco features 70s disco music and is often crowded. In contrast, the laid back and chilled out jazz club features 30s style
and modern jazz played by
live performers whilst cocktails and food are served.
The BET Stage show features hip hop and R&B whilst at
Motion, the new top spot, a
DJ plays top 40s sounds whilst videos are shown on a large screen above
the dance floor.
The Wild Horse Saloon features Country and Western music, line
dancing and barbecued food.
For live rock music, try the Rock and Roll beach club which
has a central dance floor on the ground floor and balconies on the second
and third floors with pool
tables, pinball machine and other games.
There are two open air stages. The main stage is the West End stage
featuring live performances from either the resident band, Frankie and the West End Boys, or from named acts on certain
nights.
And weather permitting it is New Years Eve every night at Pleasure Island with a countdown to midnight, fireworks and streamers. On New Years Eve itself (Dec
31st!!), Pleasure
Island is a ticket only
affair with a champagne buffet. On this night, it really is only over
21s. There are several big
name acts performing. Cyndi Lauper, Duran Duran and Hootie and the
Blowfish have been past headliners. This years line up has not yet been publicised.
